Summary: Legalism is a dangerous temptation for Christians.  Legalism is works based righteousness.  We seek to be pleasing to God based on our own behavior instead of living in God’s grace.  Legalism draws us away from sonship and back towards slavery.  It gives the appearance of spirituality but really is a subtle form of bondage.
